I’m proud to present the new video for the song Cone Of Shame by Faith No More. Why would I be proud, someone could ask? Well, it was written and directed by the Macedonian director Goce Cvetanovski, who happens to be my friend from high school years. What really made me happy was the fact that he was the biggest Faith No More fan that I knew, 20 years ago. It proved to me once more that dreams that are dreamt long enough always come true. The video shot with top actors and crew from Macedonia was released on September 29th.
The setting of the video is a seedy-looking restaurant in Skopje, a place that bassist Bill Gould felt was perfect for the tune. "This is one of those tracks that had to be a video, really, because it lends itself so much to visual imagery," he said in a statement. "Given the song's sense of Americana, it would have been easy to shoot this in Arizona or New Mexico, but having been to Macedonia several times, there's a vibe there that I felt wouldn't be out of place as a backdrop to this song. Goce Cvetanovski, as a director, understood this immediately; he knew exactly what to do with it, and along with an amazing cast, has managed to create something very dark, and beautifully cinematic."
The song Cone Of Shame is from the band’s latest release Sol Invictus (2015), their first record since 1997's Album of the Year, and their first release on Reclamation Records. The album sold over 200,000 copies in its first two months of release.
