Lorelle Meets The Obsolete is a relatively well-known psychedelic rock/garage rock/shoegaze band from Guadalajara, Mexico. Their latest album ''Balance'' was released only a short while ago, and the album is even better than their previous critically acclaimed albums have been. The album packs some mellow neo-psych style female vocals along with an instrumental mixture of krautrock, shoegaze, noise-pop and psychedelic rock.
The albums starts off with a track titled ''Balance'' and it puts forth some shoegaze infused catchy noise-pop/garage rock. The second track ''It Must Be The Only Way'' starts off in a mellow manner as well, only to move into some fine fuzzy guitar sounds and a fine forward propelling rhythm section. The guitars offer some fine fuzz and distortion laden sounds in a rather fitting garage rock meets psych rock sort of way. The third track ''Ching'' follows on from where the previous fuzzy track left off, and doesn't dissappoint anyone who is looking for some catchy and fuzzy garage rock. The fourth track ''The Sound Of All Things'' however tends to be rather more ambient before finishing off with a fine noisy indie rock manner. The same kind of mixture of garage rock, psych rock and shoegaze with a touch of indie rock characterizes most of the tracks on this fine album, with the likes of ''La Distincion'' and ''Eco Echo'' standing out more.
All in all ''Balance'' has turned out to be a pretty great album that packs sufficent amount of fuzzy garage rock distortion as well as ambience and rather mellow neo-psych with some cool female vocals. One of the best bands from Mexico and an album definitely worth checking out.
