Morgan Delt - Phase Zero

Morgan Delt is a well-known one-man psychedelic rock band from Los Angeles, California. Morgan Delt has so far released 3 albums and a few EPs, but the album under view here is his latest album ''Phase Zero''. The album came out only recently and packs some fine psych rock with indie rock, indie pop, krautrock and prog influences.

The album starts off with a mellow psych rock track with a clear indie or neo-psych feel to it as well, while it is the second track ''A System of 1000 Lies'' that really kicks off the album for me. This track packs some fine krauty and prog influenced psych and a delicious catchy repetitive core. The track could surely be listened to over and over again as it is a great one. The third track ''Another Person'' has more of a neo-psych or indie pop feel to it. The same can roughly be said about the fourth track ''Sun Powers'', but this track has a cooler krauty psych feel to it as well. The fifth and sixth tracks also dwell in a pretty dreamy neo-psych realm, with the seventh track ''A Gun Appears'' standing out to me with its more interesting neo-psych catchyness. The last three tracks ''The Lowest Of The Low'', ''Escape Capsule'' and ''Some Sunsick Day'' all pack some more dreamy neo-psych, with the first one being the murkiest one and the last one being the most memorable one perhaps.

All in all ''Phase Zero'' packs a few great tracks and a lot of pertty fine neo-psych material as well. The stand-out tracks for me are definitely ''A System of 1000 Lies'' and ''A Gun Appears'', and the album is worth listening for these two tracks alone. Overall the album packs some fine neo-psych with a dreamy indie feel to it, and is worth checking out for sure.
