On a mission to make loud, honest rock and roll music; Australian rock band Silverchair exploded onto the scene in the 90’s dominating every single airwave. Giving teens a taste of something powerful, they combined sing-along simplicity with adolescent intensity; attracting a massive audience of both younger and older generations. These grunge disciples stepped out of NSW with such attitude, talent and maturity; they left an impact that was – and still is – incredibly empowering.
Silverchair’s garage-grunge and punk-rock sound held a special place for any 90s kid that grew up on the likes of Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Offspring or Alice in Chains. Silverchair were like god to these kids. And as they immersed themselves into every fuzzed-out note or thumping rhythm the band created, fans were moved by the group that changed an entire generation.

Featuring one of the band’s most massive hits, Tomorrow, this classic record pumped out other favourites including Israel’s Son, Pure Massacre, Leave Me Out and Suicidal Dream. Their skill and potential at such a young age was mind blowing. Frogstomp was one of those unexpected charms; combining rock ballads with punk-infused wonders it gave off an addictive rock n’ roll fuelled diversity. Something you just can’t quite put your finger on; but you know has the killer vibe.
