Diät are a pretty interesting deathrock/post-punk/garage rock band from Berlin. They released their first full-length album back in 2015 and it is a pretty interesting debut album for sure. The album offers a fine mixture of post-punk, garage rock, punk and deathrock along with a pretty clear noise-rock feel in parts as well.
The first track on the album is titled ''Young & Successful'' and it offers some fine noise-rock with a post-punk and a deathrock feel to it. It packs a pretty cool repetitive bassline along with some guitars with a noise rock feel to them, only to move into a post-punkish realm in parts as well. The second track ''Toonie'' moves in a more clear-cut garage rock or punk path, and does this in a very catchy way indeed. ''Nausea'' again turns more towards post-punk and does this rather well, as it offers some really fine guitar solo parts that in certain parts blow you away in their catchy memorable flow. The same can be said about ''Nightmare'' and ''Blue Skies Over The Ocean'' as well, although the former has more of a noise rock feel to it, whereas the latter tends to lean more to the punk side of things. Another great track on this fine album is ''Hurricane'', and it offers some really memorable post-punk in a very catchy way while reminding Savage Republic among other bands. My favorite track from this album is the penultimate ''Sinkhole'' though. The track flows in the same post-punk, garage rock, noise rock and deathrock concoction, while putting forth a stunning post-punkish solo in the end.
All in all ''Positive Energy'' from Diät is definitely something people who are into post-punk, deathrock, garage rock and noise rock must listen, as it offers a great mixture of these genres and tends to be one of the more interesting releases in the said fields as far as year 2015 is concerned.
