Amen Dunes is a psychedelic rock/indie rock/neo-psych band from the United States. Their most notable album to date is perhaps ''Love'', which was released back in 2014. Amen Dunes are known for mixing some lo-fi psychedelia and indie rock with neo-psych and bluesy lo-fi garage rock. In this sense ''Love'' is not perhaps their most lo-fi album and packs some far clearer sounding psychedelic indie rock and neo-psych infused garage rock than for example ''Through Donkey Jaw''. An album that was released a few years before ''Love''.
The first track on this fine album is titled ''White Child'' and it packs some rather catchy neo-psychedelia with a garage rock feel. The same can essentially be said about ''Lonely Richard'', which also packs some rather melodic psychedelic folk sounds in a mellow garage rock coating. ''Splits Are Parted'' and ''Lilac In Hand'' also put forth some mellow psychedelia in an almost indie rock key, whereas ''Everybody Is Crazy'' and ''Green Eyes'' move on some more similar lo-fi garage rock paths of ''Through Donkey Jaw'', and pack some rather murky mystical atmosphere. The penultimate title track ''Love'' packs some even mellower indie rock with some piano sounds and some distinct neo-psych style vocals on Amen Dunes.
All in all this album from Amen Dunes is a rather interesting mellow garage rock and neo-psych album with clear-cut indie rock feel to it. The most interesting tracks are probably the psychedelic folk infused ''Lonely Richard'', as well as ''White Child'', while the lo-fi garage rock sound of ''Everybody Is Crazy and ''Green Eyes'' is also welcome. Thus this album is suitable for those who are looking for some mellow dreamy and rather murky indie rock with a psych rock coating. For those who are looking for some murky yet mystical lo-fi sounds.
