Pyramidal are a relatively well-known Spanish psychedelic rock band from Alicante. They recently came out with a new three track EP titled ''From Other Spheres'', and despite not being a particularly lengthy album, this EP surely packs some fine dreamy and spaced out psychedelic rock with a prog rock twist.
The first track on the album is titled ''The Rise & Fall of Humankind''. The track is a rather lengthy one, as it plays for almost 12 minutes, and not surprisingly packs some fine psychedelia. The title of the album is pretty much spot on in describing the track, which starts off in a meandering dreamy mellow psychedelic rock manner and gradually moves towards more harsher stoner infused psych plains. The track also has some Eastern feel to it in parts, while even putting forth some prog rock influences at one point. There is also an interesting part with some fascinating flute sounds, whereas the song finishes off with a somewhat epic repetitive psych rock way, which perhaps sounds the end of the humankind. The second track on the album is rather more ambient and also features a reciting of a poem by Rafael Llorca. The third track starts off in a mellow ambient way as well, only to move down a heavy stoner influenced psychedelic rock road in the second half of the song. The tracks also packs some fine Eastern influenced jamming and some psyched out guitar parts as well. ''Raturn to Earth'' is a pretty good track, but does not surpass the first track of the album.
All in all this EP is a rather strong one and definitely deserves to be listened to. It is a psychedelic rock release that offers a fair bit of variation between tracks and does not get boring as well.
