“Well I always associate him with Frank Sinatra because when I saw him live he sang a Sinatra song. But now he’s similar to Springsteen but more modern and a twist of 80’s.” – My good friend Maggie.
You know that feeling you get when you listen to a song you love? Something about that melody just seems to pluck your heart strings, sending chills from your head to toe that make you want to jump out of your seat and run somewhere. Now obviously not every song gives you that same emotion. Music brings many different emotions, happiness, excitement, regret, depression, sadness, the list goes on. One of the most powerful emotions, in my opinion, is excitement. It what makes you turn the radio up and live a little longer. Whenever I write I try to let my readers sample a taste of those emotions through my words.
Well it was late one Tuesday evening when I was trying to decide what to write about for my next music blog. I was having trouble deciding because I have already written so many articles on so many of my different favorite artists. Then it hit me, I remember hearing from my friend Maggie about the lead singer for “The Killers”, Brandon Flowers, and how much she loved him and his music. So I decided to write about Brandon, but the topic soon changed, as it normally does. Instead of specifically writing about the artist himself I decided to write about what sits behind the scenes to every great love for a song or an artist, the emotion.
"Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, fligt to the imagination, and charm and gaiety to life and to everything" –Plato
