Hello, Cold World by Paramore

Paramore, I consider would be my favourite band ever because their songs always have some depth and them and those roaring guitars and hammering drums sing along with Hayley’s powerful and anthemic voice and one of my favourite song of theirs is “Hello, Cold World.”

The song is a rallying cry, talking about how we are in a cold, fallen world but that we still need to make the best of it and do what we can to change it. It is urging the listeners to action. It also explores the altered prospects of adulthood. "22 is like the worst idea that I have ever had," Hayley Williams sings. The vocalist was born on December 27, 1988, so was living through that realization of being now a grown-up when she wrote this tune.

“It's not the way you plan it, it's how you make it happen”

I admire the simplicity of the lyrics; they are self-explanatory.

I think this should be a perfect unorthodox graduation song. After a person leaves the four walls of his or her classroom, he/she is left on his/her own in the real world setting torn between millions of uncertainties and uncountable possibilities. This song allows listeners an outlet to voice out their current dilemmas and problems, and all other inner struggles and conflicts. This is a song I greatly recommend to those who have recently graduated from high school who still do not have an idea what career path tread on, or even to those who have gone to college but are still undecided when the prospect of future is still blurry to their eyes. This also sings the problems of being an adult, of monotonous work and a lot of problems that running away would not solve. This also screams of hope to change the world for the better, and keeping rising up even if defeat wins over.It is an upbeat song giving listeners a sort of a sugar rush feeling wherein one could do nothing but bang heads while screaming at the top of their lungs or merely dancing to the beat of the drums and guitars.

“You wanna make a difference? Get out and go begin it.” This sparks aspirations to the heart and I think I should make this song my alarm tone for me to stop lazying around in bed and get up and make a difference one at a time.
