We all love Elvis Presley. Even as a kid, I loved his flamboyant flair, his style, and charisma. He was “the man” of those days and even today his style is very much cool. With the rolling vocal tone in his singing that even seems to carry on in his talk to his flashy style, Elvis definitely changed the scene in music during his time and made a mark in the industry that carried on for decades and generations to come. This March 23, 2016, is the 60th anniversary of the debut RCA album entitled Elvis Presley.
The album, Elvis Presley – The Album Collection, is a 60-disc collection compiling all the legend’s musical work of 21 years. The thought process and planning for this remarkable album collection was very extensive. The creators decided to go with a certain path in deciding and putting in just the right material/music within this collection. They obviously did not want to go with the usual “make a list of the greatest work then release it”. This has been done oh-so-many times.
The album’s music seems to be placed in chronological style for listeners to get the feel of music first being played and furthermore experiencing the changes through the years. Not only do consumers get an awesome album collection but a book is also included that further details Elvis Presley’s career. The collection is said to also include albums containing songs that are rare or other songs that were discovered after his passing. Other items included are photos, stickers, and well-designed packaging that may reflect the times of each and every album, reflecting the style of those magnificent days of old.
Elvis Presley has left us with so many great songs and moments in music history. With the rise of many artists today doing their own rendition of retro-style music, this album collection has arrived in great timing to allow us to go back in time and experience how it all felt to experience phenomenal moments in music history done so by the King of Rock and Roll---Elvis Presley.
