Shakey Graves is a charming fellow. Born Alejandro Rose-Garcia, he is an Americana musician from Austin, Texas, United States. His music is a cross between blues, country, and rock and roll – he performs at many large festivals and concert venues around the United States, but also smaller venues around the country. This here is his first LP album called “Roll the Bones” which you can download for free or pay-what-you-wish on his Bandcamp page. Doing that, Graves put his music out there, to be heard by thousands of people who know how to appreciate a good artist and good music. His debut album consists of songs that he played and produced completely by himself. On this release, one can hear sketches of blues and rock classics, melted in his own style of folk. On occasions his vocal harmonization sounds like something David Gilmour would play on a slide guitar. The subtle hints of psychedelia is just what distinguishes this album from the sea of acoustic folk releases, sometimes pretty boring in their predictable traditional patterns. I look forward to exploring more of his efforts. Until then, I leave you with this wonderful peaceful piece of music.
