Have you heard of Kaleo? Words that have been uttered over the course of this Winter. To explain further who Kaleo happen to be...in that case, this seemingly ghostly band has sanctioned a series of electrofied albums. Not only be integrating stringed instruments with the electric guitar but by invoking Netherworld ideologies.
Somehow Kaleo who rose to fame while living in the isolation of Iceland (many of their live videos show the expanse of that isolation with a single church and a cave as the settings for their live recording) began a distinct career defining move. The whole Alternative/Rock/Country outlet can become muddled with past acts that simply came and went without a second glance. No one has truly captured the attention by pleasing our ears, harmonies about the devil and a unified marriage between several beats that come out sounding oddly organic.
Traditionally it'll take a band five albums to reach a trusted spot on that scale dignified as "successful". Usually that first album is a skyrocketing flash of new opportunites, the sophomore slump, a comeback towards the thrid and so on and so forth. Kaleo wipe away the "old ways" of judging a band based on their career and what they have been able to put out. Somehow within that isolation of creating music and the band growing up together, a distinct connection was curated from the depths of young adult sacrifices.
One could have easily written down that Kaleo posssess a haunted quality to their sound. Yes, they do but it has become so much more than a simple gesture of a "haunted" melody. Kaleo go further into and sometimes deeper (pun intended for the video below) to etch out the very reasons why things happen or why consequences are so prominent in our lives.
