Sinking into a swamp of vicious and dark sounds seems so easy and not painful. This mirage wraps you; it hugs you with iron tenderness. You’ve just started listening to this music a few moments ago, but now you’re in a deep, uncomfortable, though voluptuous void of depressed beauty. It seems you are so out of it. It seems. But then you realize you don’t want to stop this sophisticated self-torture. This mirage is not a torture anymore; it’s more like a form of pleasures you haven’t realize you are ready for.
Chains on your hands bite your skin. You are free to go but you don’t want to. You want more and more of this dungeon pleasure. You are afraid that you’ll miss the point of no return and step too far. Dark pleasures in this Tokyo dungeon of sophistication are a serious experience for both your heart and soul.
The name of this sophistication is Kousokuya. This is experimental Japanese band playing gothic psychedelic rock and dancing on your nerve. You do not want these occult dancing to stop. You don’t want this crying vocal to be muted, though it cuts something inside your head. A pure controversial sensation which draws you in and just won’t let you go. It will leave memories: memories to be drawn by an expressionist in a cold basement where you are naked and you share your confessions in the grey atmosphere of imminence of catharsis.
Kousokuya has eight releases and a reputation of a band that can make you bleed for pleasure. The only question is: are you ready for this? I think you are.
