Take It All

I was fortunate enough to see Kiana Ledé open for artist Jessie J on her “ROSE Tour” last October and her powerful vocals proved that she is an up-and-coming force to look out for. Her debut EP, “Selfless” showcases brilliant songwriting and a perfect mixture of R&B and Pop sounds. She sings songs of heartbreak, growth, and self-awareness, and despite only being 21 years of age, her music shows a level of maturity other artists her age still lack.

Among the eight tracks, Kiana’s song, “Take It All” has found its way to my heart and mind, and I can’t get it out of my head. With a more acoustic vibe and slower melody compared to her other songs, “Take It All” speaks of an unconditional love that has been found despite many flaws and faults. She repeats “take it all,” to a significant other throughout the song; referring to her heart and as a “thank you” for accepting her as she is. Personally, I’ve had my doubts about love or finding a significant other, but this song only shows that it is possible to find a love like the one we long for. It encourages people to be open to love / relationships. If you are lucky enough to find that special someone who will stick with you through anything, it’s a love worth fighting for.
