I won't lie, Bruno Mars is the kind of artist I would love to be. True to his craft and honest about what kind of music he intends to make, Mars has released another music video this time for the track That's What I Like.
That's What I Like the music video plays out as a 1990's kids best dream. From all the 90's kids currently feeling nostalgic about pretty much everything, Mars knew exactly what to craft together for this video. Down to the almost stop animation style, clothing and even the drawn on white sharpie illustrations that would become a hit with 90's Nickelodeon television shows. Plus the greatest gift is that Mars has added the brilliant R&B smooth backing beats to That's What I Like.
The song is simple lyrically, literally detailing what Mars likes. Then transitions towards what Mars would like to give his woman, no matter what she asks it will be handed over. However, the song does not come off as vain or disrespectful. There is an almost teenager-like quality to the lyrics. Meaning a purity pertaining to the fact that this list is what Mars likes and love about his life.
Mars could probably never go wrong with figuring out an infectious beat. Along with the nostalgia atmosphere and generally groove of That's What I Like, you'll be leaving this song smiling larger than before. Also, Mars is excellent with turning the track into a rhythmic song made of classic gold excitement.
