Mic Lowry head out to Europe

I've had a collaboration with a team of Amsterdam producers a few years ago and we wrote a song that we offered to an unknown UK group called Mic Lowry. They turned out to be massive r&b fans, just like us, and also had a love for the big acts from the 90s. Even though there was an age gap, the boys loved Boyz II Men, just like us and so we thought we had this in the bag. They declined our song though - no hard feelings - but I have a memory that never forgets these acts we brushed shoulders with. So, I was quite happy to see these guys getting more and more attention throughout last year and to see them go on tour and even head out to Amsterdam in a not so shabby place to perform (Melkweg).

This boyband really seemed to be going places and then TeenVogue named them one of those Talent to Watch in 2017. Yep, now they are officially upcoming and this could very well be their breakthrough year.

So, a few years ago Mic Lowry was a vocal harmony group that were still rough around the edges. No, not in image, but in their harmonies. They were good enough to spot the potential, but they needed just a little bit of work and that is exactly what happened in between then and now.

In between, they also worked on their sound. The idea to bring back 90s r&b, kind of like M.O wanted to as well, got tossed and the current sound of r&b mixed with pop got introduced instead and this has proven to be a stroke of genius. Last year, the song "Oh Lord" was released and that started their rise to fame. The song is definitely one that is catchy and recognizable due to its adaption of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight". Oh, and supporting Justin Bieber on his Purpose tour really boosted the focus on the group as well.

Next month, the group will be headed out throughout Europe to do a tour of their own, which will increase their fame even further and I'm sure these guys will get there just fine.
