This Duo Drops a New Style

These talented two were discovered singing on the internet by none other than, Beyoncé. Chloe & Halle are two sisters who Beyoncé placed on her label after watching them cover her songs along with other songs of various artists. They definitely had a sound that grabbed Beyoncé’s attention and now they have the opportunity to work alongside her.  It must be an amazing dream-come-true for these two teenagers.  Congratulations to you both and be ready for the adventurous ride into the music industry.

For the duo, they represent the debut release coming from one of the first artists signed to Beyoncé 's label. The musical artwork they present us with is called "Drop".  The beat starts soft and welcoming then goes into a more upbeat tempo.  The vocal tones seem to whisper then explode into a sound more strong in expression.  An additional surprise is when it changes into a rap solo by one of the sisters.  The mix is definitely a delight and these two bring talent that obviously gives us a new style in music.

When the song started, I wasn’t sure what to expect.  I was thinking maybe something that would fall into the genre soul… or maybe r&b… maybe pop.  These sisters seemed to have developed and brought their own subgenre of some genre.  It doesn’t stop there either.  The addition of rap makes you wonder, what other musical skills do they have up their sleeves and just waiting to surprise us with?  I’m also curious to find out what other genres they may be able to perform.

Chloe & Halle will continue to rise in their newfound career and at their ages we are sure to be hearing more of them in the near future.  I can only imagine what music they will produce and especially the collaborations they will have opportunities in.  With a strong backing as Beyoncé, I’m sure they will go far.

Here is their song “Drop”:
