Soft Whispers of Sunshine

A positive point of view is always a better way of looking at things, obviously. It’s when music sings and teaches listeners how to do this, from time to time, that helps each and every one of us to get through that busy week, difficult day, or hectic hour.  Corinne Bailey Rae shares her new song, “Stop Where You Are”, that offers not only a certain way to view things on a positive note but a soothing voice that helps us understand exactly what she is trying to tell us.

Performing in church and the church youth leader offering to lend her money for her first guitar was the start of musical origins for Corinne Bailey Rae.  Her influences are credited towards Lenny Kravitz and rock legends Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin. She has expressed just how the band inspires her and wants to produce her own music just as they did.  Her voice and sound are soothing to the ear and her style is one that shows potential to be distinctively known.

The UK singer has recently released her song “Stop Where You Are” off of her soon-to-be-released album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers.  Her new song sings about being positive even when you seem to be struggling.  It’s about noticing the more positive aspects of a person’s life even when they may be feeling down.  It’s the present “light” that people can be delighted to have despite of any negative situation he or she may be in.  It further speaks to let go of problems that may be troubling you and that sometimes you just have to let things be the way they are, until that brighter day comes.  Corinne is telling us to learn to stop and sit back, appreciate the sunshine in your life, and we all should learn to do this every now and then.  We can all definitely agree that we really do need a “breather” at times. some of us needing more than others.  In any case, it does help to stop and smile.

“Stop Where You Are” is the third release from her upcoming album, The Heart Speaks in Whispers. We can expect her album to be released in May 2016.
