5nizza is a Ukrainian reggae duo. Also most of their songs are in Russian (still some of them are in Ukrainian). The band existed from 2000 to 2007 and produced two albums. Then they broke apart and started solo carriers. In 2015 5nizza was back. It reunited.     As I’ve already mentioned, 5nizza is a duo (though they invited musicians to create some songs for several times). Sergey Babkin plays the guitar and performs back vocal and Andrey Zaporozhets sings and do beatbox. Both of them write lyrics. The recording of their first (unofficial) album cost only 30 usd. 5nizza is a famous band in Ukraine and Russia. They became so popular, that the pop makers started to produce some kind of songs that pretends to be reggae. Rastafarian attribution came to fashion as well. So I can say that 5nizza popularized reggae music in Russia and Ukraine a lot. Also it is a pity that a lot of bands say that they sing reggae, while indeed it is a pop music and nothing more. All those songs missed the Rastafarian morality, wisdom and the whole idea. Also 5nizza is a true reggae band. Their music is nice and their lyrics are well written. Also both those guys are nice persons and they have got no superiority complex. The lyrics of the band concern different topics: love, war, world, philosophy, etc. Surrealism is often implied in the lyrics of the songs. As usually I’d like to provide you with a sample of the lyrics translated from the Russian language: I don’t remember how I came to this world Was it green either white – it doesn’t matter I don’t know how am I old There’s no photo in my passport. Where is my first port? Jamaica… I was probably born in a string-vest

On my own feet, but on your hands Sand… I am walking barefoot Without socks My hair is longer than a standard I need your map Mother Jamaica     I don’t remember my name I had a lot of surnames They were changed without my permission I don’t remember who’s bought me a ticket I opened my eyes and there was no one But I feel that it was not a stranger It was some of my friends So, thank you man Jamaica I was probably born in a string-vest

On my own feet, but on your hands Sand… I am walking barefoot Without socks My hair is longer than a standard I need your map Mother Jamaica         I don’t remember how I opened my eyes To legalize The waves sings, but people make wars Everything is crablike

Jamaica I was probably born in a string-vest

On my own feet, but on your hands Sand… I am walking barefoot Without socks My hair is longer than a standard I need your map Mother Jamaica
