Ricksha Radio’s musical journey began on the night that frontrunner Bob Dimick first heard the Beatles play on live TV — from that moment on, Dimick knew that rock and roll would be the driving force for his life. Ricksha Radio features Dimick’s songwriting expertise and a modern twist on his classical instrumental ability. The New England based group’s latest release, “Hideaway,” is a fascinating synth pop take on the band’s rock forward sound. Dimick notes that he first conjured the melody and riff back in the 1970s when he purchased his first ever Micromoog synthesizer. Though it took a few decades to complete the track, that retro electro type of funk feels altogether fresh.
