Jade The Moon's newest EP comes with a video for focus single 'Fall For This' is a euphoric alt-pop track featuring singer Dani Le Rose's haunting vocals. We'd love if you watched the video and checked out our exclusive interview below!

Jade The Moon is a unique and sonically adventurous Canadian Alt-Pop group. Their sophomore release, 11:11, can be best described as musical photographs. A moment in time turned dance party, a true story turned love song, and a daydream turned eerie, an Anti-Pop lullaby, a real-world inspiration.

Here's our conversation with Dani Le Rose (of Jade The Moon).

1. What is the inspiration behind your new album, "11:11"?

If you Wikipedia 11:11 you’ll find .... a couple of theories about the significance and meaning behind seeing the numbers.

Some believe that events linked to the time 11:11 appear more often than can be explained by chance or coincidence and symbolize a  synchronicity with the universe. As band, and this is not a stretch of the truth, we seem to see these numbers in waves. We will go months without noticing the digits and all of a sudden we all start seeing 11:11 again on clocks on building numbers etc… We think it means we are on the right path and for us we hope that path.

Fall For This is the latest single from 11:11 and was written in Toronto. We were all in studio with friend and writer/producer Colin Munroe. The themes that kept coming up in writing the material on 11:11 were all extremely personal. Fall For This specifically was inspired by our combined experiences and memories of high school friends. Frankly, we have lost friends (many in the last 2 years). Most of which were a result of substance abuse and of course, all were loved ones gone too soon. Don’t get us wrong, we have our vices and emotional baggage too but as we mention in the lyric of “If I Had Lots Of Money”, money doesn’t solve problems. People have to make conscious efforts to change the path they are on. Sometimes they just need a little help getting on that new path. People have asked “what’s with the cocaine lines on the EP cover??” The honest truth is that none of us do drugs. The inspiration around much of our music and art work has been from seeing the aftermath of drugs and alcohol and the damage they can cause a person both physically and emotionally.  Not to mention the toll these situations can take on everyone else involved.

2.What made you discover your passion for creating the eclectic sound that is Jade The Moon?

It really comes from a collective love of all kinds of music and our love of songwriting...We all come from different musical backgrounds and tastes that range from 60’s psychedelia, 70’s pop 80’s disco 90’s grunge all the through modern RnB and Alternative POP.

3. What places in your mind do you channel to craft your songs?

We really strive to write from real world experience nothing you hear on the EP is fabricated or fictional. So I guess you could say everything comes from memories.

4. What are your favorite venues to perform at? and if you had to choose, do you feel more comfortable in the studio or onstage, and

why?

We have an equal love hate relationship with live and studio. Everything in moderation. Sharing your music live is always the goal but being away from home is always hard. Writing and being in studio great but eventually you just want to play and of course getting the music heard is part of getting people to the shows. Studio can’t exist with live or vice versa.

5. What does your writing process look like?  What is the process like? Does it take you days, weeks, even longer? How does the perfect piece come?

We really feel nothing is ever perfect. What does that even mean?? We are trying to live more in the moment and find a way to release more often. We’d rather be prolific than perfect ...one step at a time maybe we could be one of these things ?

6. In a couple short sentences how would you define your sound?

We have been compared to a few things since the release our first EP Habits and Hindrance. We aren’t comfortable with any of the comparisons they’ve all been very flattering TBH. They range from Halsey to FKA TWIGS on the modern side and Smashing Pumpkins and Blondie on the vintage side.

7. This year is shaping up to be a great musical year for you. What do you hope to accomplish as we head towards 2020?

Right now the focus is getting more eyes and ears on the music. It’s a big world out there and with so much fantastic music to choose from it can seem impossible sometimes that your efforts are not being wasted ... we feel so good about these songs and we’ve had such positive responses from around the world about Fall For This recently that we feel a new confidence in our writing and sound. If you haven’t seen the visual check it out here... We’d love to hear from you !!
