Hillsong Young and Free is one of the offshoots of the Famous Hillsong and much of the music that they produce is upbeat music seemingly for the gospel. It is equally surprising and somewhat startling how much the world is infiltrating the church. But the message in the lyrics is saying that Christ’s love will not let us down regardless of what the world says and how the times change.
Another one of my favorites that I’ve heard is “I’m Falling Into You.” It’s great lyric of “Jesus, I’ll follow your voice” is an awesome testament of a true Christian that no matter what, that person will follow Jesus and His instructions. It causes me to confess that often times, I’m falling short of following that voice. It’s a must to admit that I have trouble following the voice of the Lord. Rather than following Him, many times I want different things than the Lord wants. One thing that I’ve wanted is my music to inspire others.
Every time I listen to songs like these I can’t help but feel honest and almost heavy conviction, especially when I’ve been in a heavy amount of sin. I am reminded of King David many times listening to this song along with listening to First Chronicles 22 or 23 where David shed such innocent blood and coveted so the building of the Lord’s house was Solomon’s job.
Even such songs as these aspire to give a great amount of peace but also chastening to quicken our spirits for the Lord. I am convicted yet again to come clean and be holy for Christ is holy to quicken the flesh. Even so, take a listen to this group as well as many of the other iterations of the Hillsong organization. But if you want to get your dance on in the spirit of the Lord, check these people out. They are great fellow travelers.
