Dotan had an awkward, but charming moment on a flight

Dutch singer Dotan must have lived every famous artists dream without realizing it, recently. The singer found international fame with his multi vocal layered song “Home”, a few years ago, and has been traveling the globe ever since. This week, while traveling, he shared an on-flight encounter live with his Twitter followers for about two hours and it was an interesting tale to follow.

Dotan was seated next to a woman who just happened to be listening to his album. He thought that was funny, so shared it on Twitter explaining how he heard her softly sing along with almost every word of every song, but yet she had no clue he was sitting right next to her.

Just like most of us do on a flight, you start chatting a bit to the person next to you, so a conversation between the two did start, which he partially shared on Twitter. Once, she found out he was a musician, he dropped a couple of subtle hints to his own song titles, but the link wasn’t made by her.  When he asked how she heard about the music she’s listening to now, she shared she discovered the artist on a TV show and that she found comfort and peace in the music. Still no clue that he was sitting right next to her. As a matter of fact, she made him listen to his own music and he just played along.

The whole incident was very entertaining to follow on Twitter. In the end, he decided to pass a note before leaving the plane explaining who he was and offering tickets for one of his shows. She responded with an e-mail, which he also posted. The compliment only got bigger when she explained that she wouldn’t recognize most of her favorite artists, as it’s purely about the music for her.

As awkward as this encounter was, this would be what it would be like if being a pop star was just a regular day job without the glamour image, without even having your face on any magazine or album covers. This is what most famous artists dream of. That it’s just about the music.
