Paramore's New Song Will Get You Through the Hard Times

After their 4-year hiatus, everyone was stoked to hear that Paramore was coming back. Certainly, their rest has not made them lose their sound but rather improved it. I had been passing up the opportunity to listen to their new song for a while and I definitely regret not hearing it the first time it came out.

Despite the title, Hard Times is a very upbeat and creative song. You’re going to want to dance sooner or later just like Hayley Williams did in the music video. The music video takes up an eccentric theme and Hayley’s new hair color suits the whole idea of it. (Hint: Her hair isn’t signature red anymore, but… blonde.)

The music video reminds me of old cartoons. It somehow seems like stop motion with doodles and cut outs in the background. The video is my favorite part of the song!

Watch it down below:

Hayley explained that this song was largely inspired by the departure of Jeremy Davis, their former bassist, from the band. She felt bad that they were down another member and had a lot of self-doubt. There are also a few songs inspired by what the experience has caused her. However, now she is saying that she is also quite thankful for the hardships that came before.

I’d love to hear more from Paramore, so be sure to listen to their other single “Told You So” and wait for the full release of their album After Laughter. It’s going to be a change of pace as Taylor York said it won’t be much of rock and that they don’t want to head bang anymore. Nevertheless, we still love Paramore!

Leave a comment down below and tell me what you think about Paramore’s awesome comeback!
