Last year Amy Shark's song Adore reached a mass audience by winning the Pop Song of the Year during the Queensland Music Awards in Australia. Also, Triple J Hottest 100 issued Adore as the number two song on their list.
Amy Shark is from the Gold Coast in Australia, maybe that's why Adore has a subtle oceanic vibe to the entire song. Shark has only been around since 2014 as a singer-songwriter. Within two years Shark has captivated the attention of thousands of fans ready to embark on a full-length album that still hasn't seen the light of day. So far Shark has released an EP Night Thinker being distributed in major retail stores.
Now Adore plays with hearty emotions and the contact that comes with exploring those feelings. The track could easily be played on any teenage drama television show, showcasing two characters falling for the other. Or on a more adult note, a singular individual falling towards the side of a one-sided love affair. Shark voices a sincere request of adoration towards another. Also, Shark addresses how one wishes to be found by their other half, wherein the end brings in further admiration and adoring motives.
In a relative way, it's easy to listen and fall into the groove vibe Adore has been produced into. In time, Adore could be considered an Indie Pop classic to the sheer velocity and mood conditioned in the track. Even the narrative section positioned in the later half portion is an excellent advantage towards the song.
Production wise, the layering of the synth and looped back vocal compliment Shark's sweet tender vocals. However, between the sweet tenderness Shark offers, there is also a subtle hint of assurance as if Shark may even be singing about an individual in her day to day life.
