I’ll be frank; I’ve never heard of James Arthur before, however, the other day my colleagues were singing this song called “Say You Won’t Let Go”. It was the only thing I could hear the whole day. It felt like that time when everyone was going crazy about Ed Sheeran’s “Thinking Out Loud”. I went home and checked it out myself. To my surprise, it already has 58 million views! Now, wow, people really have a thing for being sentimental.
This song was released on September and is part of singer and songwriter, James Arthur’s new album, Back From The Edge. It sounds very simple; there wasn’t much to the harmony of it. A little guitar, some piano, percussion and snaps; although, when put together, you’re bound to feel someone tugging at your heart strings. But I want to focus on the beautiful lyrics. Basically it’s about being afraid of losing your partner and I think that’s a wonderful thing to write a song about. The music video tells us about how a relationship grows from just dating to actually getting married. Along with the black and white visual feel it gives, this song is perfect to play when you’re lying in bed and want to think about your special someone.
