Shawn Mendes, a very talented young, Canadian artist just released his second studio album “Illuminate” last September 23, 2016. His latest album includes 15 songs, with the acoustic version of one of his songs entitled “Mercy”. The first seven songs of the album are all slow, sad songs. If you’re heartbroken, or feeling sad and empty, some of his songswould be relatable to you. The song “Treat You Better” is the lead single of the album and ranked number 6 on the Billboard Hot 100. No wonder I could always hear it on different radio stations, I think it gained a lot of popularity though not that popular compared to his song “Stitches”, which reached top 5 on the U.S Billboard Hot 100. Stitches is included and the lead single of his debut studio album “Handwritten” that was released last year. It became the LSS song of the kids earlier this year.
I didn’t know Shawn Mendes could actually play the piano and drums, I thought he could only play the guitar but the talented artist surprised me to his music video of his lead single “Mercy” where he plays all the instrument. You would actually admire him even more. As we throwback, Shawn Mendes’ career started when he began posting song covers on the popular video sharing application Vines, and there he caught a lot of attention, until some of the managers contacted him and made him a great artist as he is. I like his voice so much, I could compare him to One Direction or Bieber, just a comparison though. I see Shawn Mendez as the next John Mayer or Jason Mraz of his time. Shawn Mendes is one of the great artists that’s into building a career and his talent will sure take him far as he continues to bloom it. Heart heart Shawn!!
