Fifth Harmony is writing their own story

As a writer, I couldn’t help but be curious about Fifth Harmony’s “Write On Me”. I just had to listen to it and luckily it doesn’t even disappoint. Now, I have to admit, Fifth Harmony have been surprising me throughout their short existence. I don’t like every one of their songs, but they have some really good songs in there.

Fifth Harmony is one of those groups that I’m skeptical of. After all, they were put together on a TV show, which didn’t work out all too well for groups with a similar start. May I remind you of Danity Kane, at this point?

When you audition at a TV talent search, most people will have flocked there to pursue a solo career in music. So did the ladies from Fifth Harmony. Ending up a group member could be something to get used to then. You have to alter your expectations. However, the members seem to be doing really well and, as a group, they have definitely filled a void that was left by the end of The Pussycat Dolls.

Unlike One Direction, also formed on TV, Fifth Harmony seem to be happy where they are. Where you could see Zayn having a bit of problems adjusting to being a band member and, at some point, clearly desiring more freedom to do his own thing, Fifth Harmony members don’t appear to have any restlessness yet.

Mind you, Fifth Harmony is only just starting out. Their second album has just been released and their popularity is still growing. And they do get a chance to branch out on their own from time to time, like Camila’s duet with Shawn Mendes. The group is clearly a great stepping stone for the girls down the line and they’ve not even been shy talking about it.

But, for now, all focus is still directed to the group and the new single, “Write On Me”, is an interesting blend of styles. All very much connected to the music that is in today’s global charts.

Nothing really more I can write about that.
