As sugary sweet Katty Besnard sings in this track 'Back To The Start', never once does the song come off as bubble gum annoyance. The french all female rock band has no fear when it comes to transitioning over from garage rock to a more funk embellished disco 54 roller show. 'Back To The Start' comes off of their third album that shares the track name, back in 2014. Although the Plastiscines sing in French and English, there is no point in between where the band shows a gap within their talent. Sometimes music in an original language does not transfer over as well into English and vice versa.
The entirely surreal nature of the Plastiscines, trample over the inexplicable ground where bands tend to fail. Evolution within the music that can make or break an audience, critics and even the band. 'Back To The Start' plays out a cosmic sort of Runaways, Yeah Yeah Yeahs and Letters to Cleo section. Light-hearted yet easily mistaken if the lyrics are not heard clearly. While Katty sings about falling apart and instead of admitting defeat, chooses to go back to the start. Collectively the lyrics seem to describe in an odd parallel the music the Plastiscines make, stating that no matter the circumstances, reinvention has the perks for wallflowers as well as rock stars.
