Hotel Motel may be a cleverly handy band name, however their track 'Lil More' has "more" going on than others would give them credit. Since The 1975 blew up with their sound and threw shade to the wind when it came to incorporating catchy lyrics to a Pop standard way of creating music. Hotel Motel follow a similar choregraphed stance...although Hotel Motel's track 'Lil More' may have something a tad more special.
As sugar coated Pop this song may be, including the dreamscape guitar; Lil More generates a pulse worthy of listening to. First off... this was not my first pick but a happy accident. The soft approach Hotel Motel solidify with Lil More equips the relationship status quid pro quo. In this instance the track talks about how this person has others talking about how they had been with everyone else, running around with virtually everyone in town. Yet Lil More begins to showcase a small town essence, how word of mouth can influence another's decision. Although that individual eventually questions, even if they say "I really need to forget you".... as cheesy as it may sound, the heart wants what it wants.
Be it confused about a friend or significant other, Hotel Motel add the right dose of sympathetic understanding in the form of Indie Pop.
