Being an YouTube sensation isn't exactly a cakewalk. Even though, there appears to be no elaborate formula behind becoming an Internet Celebrity that Sam Tsui is, had there been one it would have certainly included sheer talent and a little bit of charm. Well, of course, Sam has truckloads of those we know! So, what is this divine "Secret" that we are talking about? Tada! It's a new single that this extremely charming YouTube sensation who is set to make his crossover from covers to originals with.
Sam Tsui, at this point, isn't quite unknown to the world. Everybody who has entered the labyrinth of YouTube song covers is bound to have chances upon him, sooner or later. He first shot to fame in 2011 when his cover started to get recognition and was even featured on Britney Spear's website. With over 2 million subscribers Sam is now in the big league of YouTube artists. He has also collaborated with other well-known Youtube artists in his cover, from time to time.
"Secret" that was just launched, isn't his first original venture, though I think it is his most radio-ready track yet. It is peppy and fun an talks about lovers who have got the perfect secret formula of being the perfect couple. Too bad it is not the secret we were dying to know, but the song is refreshing anyhow. It might be this summer's first bright number as well. The video features several couples in different walks of life, and is one of the most vibrant I remember seeing in recent times. The last time I had seen such a colorful and bright video might have been a Karmin video. It looks refreshingly 90s throwback style, and sparks up your senses. The number itself, borrows from funk elements and Sam's voice is quite the honey-dew dipped treat for your ears fuelling the overall happy vibe of the song.
For now, "Secret", is a single, but I hope there will be a follow up with an album of similar vibrant and Sam-Style originals in the near future. Here, lend an ear to "Secret" for now!
