“I'm missing the sound of your heart beating” is part of the lyrics found in Shawn Hook’s “Sound of Your Heart”. The song sings love, loss, and pain. The pain comes from wanting to reconnect to a person he loves but those chances are lost. Just even the thought or wonder of his former lover possibly giving him a chance again troubles him.

The song, “Sound of Your Heart”, retells the tale of a man who is struggling living his life with the pain of losing his former love. He only seeks for a second chance, a chance he knows he cannot and may have no right in having. In this situation, he has done too much to even believe himself that he would even have the chance to make things right. Basically, the things he has done have made their deep cuts that only now leaves scars he can barely hide. His only wish is for her heart to beat like it once did, when she was also in love with him. For him to even hear her heart and to beat that way, would bring an end to his heart’s suffering of lost love.
