The youngster whose voice sounds like he has sand in his throat oriented towards disco rhythyms on his second album. As it seems, Revolve is going to be remember as a bad second album and John Newman might only be remember for his smash hits Love Me Again and All I Want Is You.
I am not sure anyone is capable of memorizing songs from this album. You would really have to train your mind and push it over the limits in order to do so.
After album Tribute, Newman had all od the cards in his hands. It was certainly not a perfect or revolutionaru album but it was kind of strong and, most importantly, suggestive. On Revolve you will find a bunch od catchy tunes that are ok If you are washing dishes or If you really don't want to hear the sound of your motor while driving a car. It is a politically correct, compromising music that almost annoys me. Just because no one want to be musically deprivated does not mean it is not better to just sit in silence sometimes. There is no emotion pr any significant message on this overly produced album.
Still, If you decide to give it a shot, I reccomend the second half of the album because it offers New Orleans funk track Give You My Love, grande ballade I'm Not Your Man and upbeat, gospel-inspired We All Get Lonely. These three songs prove that John Newman is still not over. He might have just made one mistake. We will see If we will forgive him.
