The New Blue-Eyed Kid in the Block

It’s time for another talented young  Youtuber to take the big leap, following the footsteps of Shawn Mendes! And, this time it’s Brisbane based 19 year old blue-eyed boy Joel Adams.

Joel just released his first music video for his debut single “Please Don’t Go”, a trippy pulsating pop song borderline indie – sounding fresh and memorable at the same time. If you ask me, first songs are the hardest – it’s something that sticks with you throughout your career- and this young man seems to have struck the right chord with this single.

The music video released on 23rd December  has been directed by Chuong Vo, and it seems pretty fresh too. The forest setting seems to be complementing the song’s raw simple vibe.

Well, after listening to Joel Adams, my first impression for the artist was pretty good. He has a likeable voice and his vocal abilities, though not off the roof, are quite decent. And, this was enough for me to check out his earlier work.

Checking out his Youtube covers reaffirmed my hunch about him – this artist does look quite promising to me. His cover are inspiring interpretations of popular pop tracks and I especially like this cover of Nick Jonas’s “Jealous”, more because I didn’t think much of the original but Joel’s cover actually made me reassess my likings about the song.

Joel’s videos go as far back as 3 years and we see a 15 year old him serenading us with his boyish charms. This guy has “STAR” written all over him, as much for his will to try to make better easy on the ears music as he is easy on the eyes.

So overall, Joel Adams, is a new artist whose graph I’ll probably be tracking over the coming year, and probably there will be more developments for me to share. His voice has a brightness about it and his blue-eyed soul influenced pop style is something I’d willing to bet now!

Give “Please Don’t Go” listen and who knows probably it could be your jam for the week, especially because sometimes good things come as free downloads!
