On May 5th of 2017 Pond released their seventh studio album 'The Weather'. To much acclaim, the prog-psychedelic band decided to take matters into their own hands. By diversifying the privileges set afoot amongst countries where communities or even cities seemingly go about their everyday lives without peril. Or to put it even better, mass amounts of individuals who live life under a dome as if nothing around them can touch them or affect them at any great cost... so again privilege. Pond through the towel in and address the 'American Beauty' behind closed doors concept in full wide open shame and taste. Because why not? Is there anyone else at the table opening this topic for discussion or are we all just blind?
'Sweep Me Off My Feet' is the new single as well offers an accompanying music video to apply the taste we all need to digest. The music video shows various clips of what looks like moving Getty stock images of a frolicking family, a couple on a beach, a man getting a promotion or job offer...the typical every day. 'Sweep Me Off My Feet' offers a point of view on normally overshadowed with perfection. The question comes up as 'What kind fo life is this?' And 'Does it even matter, why do we follow accept this product of white privilege?'
Matter of fact 'Sweep Me Off My Feet' bleeds into eerie territory the second time around as I watch the music video. Pond play a great conception between ordinary and thought-provoking. This is not a band brush aside and assumes this is another light-hearted track based on instrumental bias. Pond contribute a forward action using music as an opening segment to suggest what everyone should be weary or at least talk about. As Pond moves beyond with 'The Weather' notably a concept album, the band may ask for directions but with the intention to derail any privilege presented in society by adding some prog-psychedelic reinforcements. Aren't you glad you wanted for Pond to come back around?
