If you are a Progressive music lover, you cannot just pass by this album or band. These guys deserve our attention; They have a message to say and deliver! The third studio album of "The Contortionist" - "Language" sorted by genre is progressive rock & metal, released in September 2014.

"The Contortionist" as a "young American band" (formed in 2007) in this album brings out a unique expression, with a great sense of dynamic changes, natural flow, and wonderful harmonic progressions. I am fascinated by the lyrics too. What I loved the most in "Language" is the nice melodies with slow build ups as well as the sudden changes in dynamics. The Album is more of a concept album rather than separate singles and songs. To feel the magic of it, you should listen from start to finish; I know you won't regret it! The album also has A "Rediscovered" version of the LP released in November 2015. The Edition contains four tracks, recorded as a live session and video. Although not the common thing is to see a band is making rediscovered edition of their songs, but still very impressive.

I think Michael Lessard is the perfect fit for this album as a lead vocal. The album starts with his natural and clean voice with his beautiful soft timbre, and then in "Language II: Conspire" he starts to bring out his roughness with screams and growls. In this 3rd album, Lessard proves his abilities and vocal technique that he posses. I would say a "Guru" on Vocals.

What I find fascinating about this band is their evolution and progress from their first to this (third) album. When I heard the First and the Second album I couldn't believe that it is actually the same band. They had a different sound, different energy, and expression than "Language" (I found only a few spots in common with this album). That much progress in just two albums is not a joke. However, we also need to consider that the band has changed some of the members.

The first link I opened when I found this Band was this Album on YouTube. I listened to the album with my eyes closed; it was an another experience. If I am honest with you guys, I am not a huge fan of progressive metal, but this album blew my mind entirely. "Language" took me on a different kind of journey and made me think of my life and our life paths. Not everyone can manage to deliver and spread a message on a civilization level.
