Brainbombs - Urge To Kill

Brainbombs are probably the most notorious raw noise-rock band in the world. They hail from Hudiksvall in Sweden and have been releasing albums with dirty raw lo-fi sounding repetitive noise-rock riffage already for decades. While doing this they have accumulated a cult following around the world during developing their own niche to its most perfect form. The noise-rock of Brainbombs is quite simple and almost krautrockish in its structure, and this inherent heavy as fuck catchyness is what makes Brainbombs so enjoyable. Well this, and the overall theme of Brainbombs that centers around serial killers, murder, rape and all other kind of brutal taboo matters, which they convey via very distinct insane vocals. While Brainbombs have released a large number of great albums and EP's then the best among them is perhaps ''Urge To Kill'' - an album they released back in 2010.

The albums starts off with tracks like ''Slayer'' and ''Slutmaster''. Both of which pack some feedback and distortion laden repetitive noise rock with an almost psychedelic feel to it, making for some truly addictive material with some fucked up vocal themes to accompany this lo-fi feedback laden noise rock. ''Salome'' is a another brilliant track that packs some fine repetitive noise rock content that is accompanied by a fine sax part as well. The following ''Ass Fucking Murder'' packs a bit more concrete faster noise-rock tempo in its no-nonsense noise rock ways. ''Maybe'' on the other hand packs some pretty cool vocals along with some more addictive feedback and distortion laden repetition. The same exact thing can be said abut ''Down In The Gutter'' as well. A track that is followed by ''Stupid and Weak'', which is perhaps the best track on the album with the vocals and the heavy lo-fi riffage working wonders like gruesome murder. Having said this then ''Driving Through Leeds'' is another track about which nothing bad can be said. Actually nothing bad can be said about this whole album as it is probably perfection in a feedback laden noise rock sense. If Buddha was searching for enlightenment through dirty raw Swedish noise rock then this album would have surely ended his searches. A truly great album also for self-immolation or self-mummification too. Speaking in buddhist terms again. Not sure why though.

All in all ''Urge To Kill'' is probably the best noise-rock album of all time and something that every person should really consider the best album of all time if the world was a sane place.
