For Ian Frasier Lemmy Klimster, some would say that considering how wild he lived, he had lived a long life. No matter how far he had come, it would even be too short  If he stayed with us only for a couple more decades. People like him should never die.

Lemmy lived through the half century of real, authentic rock ‘n’ roll. He is a true icon who entered the world of legend many decades ago. Departure from the life stage to the performance stage directly launched him to the top of the pyramid, right next to the biggest names in music. He was not only a musician, he was also a poet, an icon, and a legend. He was an essence of the term rockers. His definition.

The crowd that followed and still follows his work do not need further explanations, but those who experience the work of Motorhead as being always the same, including many critics, will never understand how important this band was. If Motorhead existed longer, it would certainly change out perception of rock. Maybe it wouldn’t, but that isn’t important.

Many things were said and many tears were poured out over the past few months. Words are redundant. Lemmy would like us to talk about him through music, which is what I am going to do now.

A month before the singer’s death, Motorhead was on tour promoting Bad Magic. One of the stops was Munchen where two of the recordings found their place on Clean Your Clock. Their concerts are strong, concrete, hypnotic and loud. Because that is who Motorhead are. Despite Lemmy’s sickness, he gave it his all in Munchen. Manic bass distortions did not lose strength, vocals are hitting the spot and Phil’s riffs can not be explained through words. They are that good.

The set-list is a retrospective of band’s career. Rock’n’roll in its purest form. There is nothing to expect here, as Motorhead always delivers what you expect from it: raw, candid and full-blooded rock. My favorites are Bomber, Stay Clean, When The Sky Comes Looking For You and Over The Top.

This was the band everyone loved. This was the band that loved everyone, even though they didn’t show it sometimes. This might be the end of the journey, but their music will travel forever.
