STABBED!

When a guy decides to surround himself with people in order to create better music than he does when he is alone, one child sees a shooting star at the other side of the globe. This is a story about Stabbed. Don’t worry, it’s not a horror story, although it is about a metal music.

It all started few years ago as a solo project and as a toying with ambiental tones and industrial rock. Suddenly, Attila Keckes broaden his horizons and let few other people into his music life. That is how Stabbed emerged.

Stabbed begun with ten track EP. The second half of the EP wre instrumental versions of the first five tracks. It is a move borrowed from Dream Theater, especially suitable for rock and metal music. The instruments, afterall, are not made of flesh and meat.

On Submerge, Stabbed have connected sludge metal with alternative metal from the 90s, and post metal atmosphere. Genre mixing is far from unusual, but the way in which post and alt metal are combined here is aberrant. I highly enjoyed the fusion.

Ruins represents an amalgam of sludge guitars and post-roc. Brutal vocals and melodies. Creed has even more brutal vocals. There is also a lot of Tool-like wickedness, Mastodon’s progressiveness and frenzy.

You can extrapolate what Stabbed stand for. They are going for your heart, and they are not afraid to stab it. If they continue like this, there is no stop for them.
