Reverend Bizarre are a legendary Finnish doom metal band, who have released a number of great doom metal albums through the years. They are not active anymore, but their albums still remain as the pinnacle of this particular genre. The best of these albums might be III - So Long Suckers, which they released back in 2007. This album features a lot of very long epic and heavy doom metal tracks that at their most extreme are almost half an hour long, as is the case with a track titled They Used Dark Forces/Teutonic Witch.
All in all the length of this album is as epic as are all of the mighty doom metal tracks that make up this album. Tracks such as Ceasar Forever, Anywhere Out of This World, One Last Summer, Sorrow and Funeral Summer are all at least 15 minutes long, and some of them reach the mark of 25 minutes. One can read out from this that this is one massive massive doom metal album. The great thing about this album is that all the songs are good, and they don't get boring, as they have plenty of variation for a doom metal release. Which of course is a mighty task in itself due to the share length of these doom metal/stoner doom tracks. While all of Reverend Bizarre's albums are pretty much the best the traditional doom metal genre can offer, then this album treads the very limits of epic awesomeness. With epic vocals that have a trademark Finnish accent to them and heavy riffage that dwells in a slow doom field, while also heading off to some faster stoner doom directions in parts.
This album is a must listen for anyone who likes traditional doom metal or stoner doom for that matter.
