After The Burial Lost In The Static

After the Burial is a progressive metal band from Twin Cities, Minnesota. After much mainstream success, they recently lost one of their guitarists in a mysterious and highly controversial passing. Justin Lowe was a principal member in After the Burial’s song writing process. My sympathy and thoughts go out to his family and friends. From a musical standpoint, I was concerned that their music would be greatly affected by this tragic loss, but I'm happy to say it has not been even in the slightest.

“Lost in the Static” is the equivalent of an awesome movie sequel. You're hope they don’t ruin the previous movie, in this case album, and it ends up being just as good if not better. This song is downright vicious. Lead guitar melodies intertwine harmoniously with the heavy rhythm instruments. Tie this in with the aggressive, relentless voice of lead singer Anthony Notarmaso and it creates a massive track.

Despite my apprehension, After the Burial came out swinging on “Lost in the Static”. I’m glad that the tragedy of losing a band member didn’t disband these talented group of musicians and I can’t wait to hear their newest release.
