In 1990 , when Latin America reigned pop in Spanish, the hall and the merengue the singers Emmanuel and Juan Luis Guerra released the song " I have not been able to see you ", included in the album "Vida", one of the most sold in that decade.

Now, 27 years later, Emmanuel renews the theme alongside the Venezuelan artist Nacho and serves as a cover letter for the MTV Unplugged, which premieres on MTV Latin America this Thursday and celebrates four decades in the music industry.

During the 80s and 90s Emmanuel was a pop icon who dominated Latin radio charts , as well as Billboard charts. " Pobre devil ", " Detentela ya " and " Toda la vida " are some of the most remembered songs of this artist who, like Chayanne , Yuri or any pop artist who sings in Spanish, had to adapt to the new musical rhythms and tastes of the fans. The stations became specialized and these singers were losing popularity before the rise of reggaeton, Internet and social networks.

But Emmanuel did not move away from the industry , he never stopped singing or producing records and he already has 1 9 musical works in 40 years of career; and that is why the music channel MTV Latin America chose it to record this year the unplugged, acoustic format that had its peak in the 90s and that for a few years revived with Enrique Burbury and Miguel Bose

" Emmanuel continues to be an unstoppable musical force with undeniable influence in today's Latin pop ," said Marc Zimet, Vice President of Music and Talent at MTV Latin America last May, when the release of " Emmanuel: MTV Unplugged " was announced.
