For a consecutive year he triumphs in the awards that recognize Latin talent.

The Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias won this Thursday the recognition of the artist of the year in the third edition of the Latin American Music Awards (LAMAs) that were held at the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles.

The vocalist prevailed in this category to the also nominated Shakira, Maluma, Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, Romeo Santos, Nicky Jam, Wisin and the Band Sinaloense MS of Sergio Lizárraga.

Iglesias repeated the success he had achieved last year, when in the second edition of the Latin American Music Awards he triumphed with five awards: artist of the year, favorite male pop-rock artist, song of the year, best pop-rock song and better collaboration (the last three for the theme "Hurts the heart").

"First of all I want to thank my fans because without your support this would be impossible, thank you very much for all your love, I love you very much," said Iglesias when he collected his award.

Previously, Enrique Iglesias had taken the stage of the awards to give his friend Pitbull special recognition Dick Clark as a tribute to his musical career and dedication to charitable purposes.

Pitbull took the opportunity to send a message of inspiration and motivation to all those affected by natural disasters in Puerto Rico and Mexico.

"Let us never forget that the immigrants built the United States," added the singer, who opted to build more schools and fewer walls and asked Latinos to remain "strong" so that this country does not become the "Divided States of America." "

The third edition of the Latin American Music Awards was held this Thursday in Los Angeles with a gala that features Diego Boneta and Becky G as masters of ceremonies.
