Nothing more and nothing less than the office of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Argentina appointed Ambassador of Good Will to Soda Stereo former drummer, Charly Alberti, who in his role as an activist will raise awareness about climate change.
The former member of the band will participate in various actions and will be the image of the campaign "Action for Climate", promoted by the UNDP, which is part of the global campaign "For 2030", which supports the 17 sustainable development goals signed by 190 countries before the UN
The organization of the United Nations highlighted in a press release that Alberti affirmed his belief in the "promotion of a more harmonious and respectful relationship with nature and spaces" in which life develops.
"Climate change is a reality here and now, and it also requires us," said the musician and activist, who from 1982 to 1997 was part of Soda Stereo, one of the most successful rock bands in Argentina, along with Gustavo Cerati and "Zeta" Bosio.
"It is a great honor for me to receive this designation and be able to collaborate with the UNDP in the important work they have been doing to raise awareness about our relationship with the environment," Alberti said. I am convinced that a change in our daily behaviors will make a difference. Global Environmental Change is a reality that is rapidly changing our environment and forms of development. Achieving a change in behavior and awareness in the population is fundamental to achieve sustainable development that allows us to address a future with greater economic, social and environmental equity ".
