From the 21st to the 23rd of September, the new edition of the Festival Hermoso Ruido will be held in the Pink Zone of the Chapinero Center in Bogotá, where 40 musical proposals will be presented, including three Venezuelan artists: Simon Grossmann, who will promote his disk Cycle; the band KungFu Club, winner of the Festival New Bands 2015, which will promote their EP titled 3001, and Egyptian Cotton, which will present the themes of his latest album Confidence Blind .
Cheky Bertho, head of the Egyptian Cotton music project, confesses "extremely excited". "I still can not believe it," he says. "The organizers of the festival contacted me by e-mail and even offered to give me a production workshop. Of course I said yes immediately," he adds.
The composer anticipates that he is already working on songs that had not previously played live. However, they will be the pieces that are part of his latest record production. "Of course you can not miss songs like Desires , The Water Cycle , The Irregular Star , The Human Genius ... although I am working on new versions that will soon be heard. It will be a very entertaining show," says Bertho.
The artist who has already tried his luck in rhythms such as shoegaze and hip hop explains that although part of his time is dedicated to organizing his presentation at the Colombian festival, he does not leave aside his next musical projects.
"I'm fine-tuning the details of the release of two remix albums of songs from my previous album, the first coming in a period of two months and the second coming later," says the singer. "The truth is that I have a lot of time working on new music to start shaping an upcoming album," he added. "It's a time I have to share with my work as an editor of newspaper articles.
And is that Bertho not only has his attention in Egyptian Cotton, but also serves as content editor for different web portals that report on the music scene. "As an immigrant, life has become quite difficult, I never wanted to leave Venezuela, but I was obliged when the country stopped offering me the possibility of being someone because of the levels of decomposition to which our society has arrived. received very well, the truth. The local artistic movement has given me the opportunity to introduce myself and somehow start to make myself known, "he concludes.
