The children of the Mexican singer Juan Gabriel fight a strong battle for their inheritance, with challenges to the will and an attempt to enter by force to one of its houses, a year of his death.
The "Divo de Juárez", whose real name was Alberto Aguilera Valadez, passed away on August 28 last year at age 66 due to heart problems. He had at least six or seven children, some adopted, according to the press, but only Ivan Aguilera Salas was designated heir in the will.
Now, the document is being challenged. Joao Aguilera Rosales, 24, whose existence was known after the death of the singer, initiated in Mexico a process for the annulment of the document before the Attorney General's Office, Mexican media reported today.
His lawyer, Marco Tulio Ruiz, says there are a number of irregularities in Juan Gabriel's last will, dating to 2014, including a false signature of the singer and said to have been present, without being present, when the document was made .
The recognized sons of Juan Gabriel are Ivan Gabriel, Joan Gabriel, Hans Gabriel and Jean Gabriel.
Two others, Luis Alberto and Joao Gabriel Aguilera, underwent DNA tests and said they tested positive, while Alberto Aguilera said he was legally adopted at age 12.
On Thursday Alberto Aguilera broke into a house in Ciudad Juarez, northern Mexico, after breaking two locks from a back door, but was dissuaded from staying in the place by surveillance guards.
