" Despacito ", the worldwide success of Puerto Rican Luis Fonsi with his compatriot Daddy Yankee, received this week a nomination for the MTV Video Music Awards (VMA) in the category of best song of the summer.

As a novelty, the MTV Video Music Awards do not distinguish this year between men and women, so the categories of best female artist video and best male artist video have been cast in the award for best artist of the year.
