Singer Beck, a big name in the alternative rock world, announced Thursday that his new album will be released in October, with a delay of one year to the original date, and he took advantage of a new song.
"Colors," which will land on streaming platforms on October 13, is Beck's first album from the bleak "Morning Phase" album, which earned him a Grammy in 2014.
Beck had announced the departure of "Colors" for October 2016, before postponing the project without explanation.
After three decades of a career marked by the constant desire to innovate and reinvent itself, the 47-year-old American seems to return with an album of lighter, younger tones.
The new "Dear Life" theme, sparkling and cheerful, is duly accompanied by rock and roll guitars and a nice jazz piano.
It's a nice mix, but it's far from being one of Beck's most experimental works, which he never left in the 1990s to mix hip-hop and Mexican music with other genres.
"Dear Life" is the third single released, after "Wow" and "Dreams", two tracks with electro influences, suggesting a clearly light and exciting album.
