"Compositions and Arrangements of Antonio Estévez" is the title of the book with which the National Company of Music Foundation (Fcnm) intends to massify the work of the mythical composer and conductor of Venezuelan orchestra Antonio Estévez.
According to what was announced, the project is the first volume of the Venezuelan sound heritage series, and was started in 2016, when the centenary of the birth of this musician was celebrated.
The book was presented at the VIII Book Fair in Caracas by Raúl Delgado Estévez. However, it is on August 3 when it is planned to perform the musical baptism of the specimen in the framework of a concert that, curiously, will not be directed to his memory and legacy but to those of the Venezuelan pianist Teresa Carreño. The gala will be realized by the Philharmonic in homage to Teresa Carreño, and will count on the interpretation of the pianist Clara Rivas.
José Jesús Gómez, president of the Fcnm and director of the Iaem, told the Venezuelan media Latest news that his mission is that this book can be used by "directors of public choirs and libraries in Venezuela and abroad, through diplomatic missions. We left a consultation at the headquarters and another one is sent to the main conservatory of each country, thus we mass the work of the national authors in the world, including the scores that can be acquired in facsimile mode "and a thousand copies were edited.
