US music producer Quincy Jones won a legal battle over Michael Jackson's estate, which will give him $ 9.4 million in royalties, DPA said. This was pronounced in the afternoon of Wednesday the High Court of Los Angeles, as a result of a lawsuit filed by Jones in 2013 because after the death of the king of pop was deprived of the collection of royalties. "Not only is it a victory for me, but for the rights of artists," the producer wrote in a bulletin. Jones was the creator of many of Jackson's greatest hits, which passed away in 2009 at age 50. "My quarrel was not against Michael, but it is about protecting the integrity of our work in the recording studio and the legacy we have achieved," he said. The amount the producer will receive is much lower than the $ 30 million he was asking for. The artist's estate managers, for their part, had valued Jones' rights at $ 392,000 and announced they would continue the battle in court. Jackson and Jones were one of the most successful couples in the history of music. Together they worked on the legendary Off The Wall , Thriller and Bad records.
